Presented by Kitty Lenhart, MEd RD Child Health and Nutrition
Meal prepping is a popular cooking trend that can save money and time while improving nutritional intake. The process of ingredient prepping involves chopping, slicing, dicing and cooking some basic ingredients ahead of time and storing them in containers in the refrigerator or freezer, ready to pull-out and use in your child care setting. With proper planning, you can prevent making unnecessary food purchases, saving you money and reducing food waste.
Workshop participants will learn:
• Meal prepping and storage techniques for five days or just one meal
• How to speed up the cooking process later by preparing separate ingredients ahead of time
• Planning and preparation for balanced meals with nutritious foods from all the food groups
All workshop participants will receive food storage containers per program that are reusable and stackable for meal prepping.
