Did you know that April 2 was the “World Autism Awareness Day” and that the month of April is the “National Autism Acceptance Month”? It used to be called the “National Autism Awareness Month”. The Autism Society of America changed the terminology from ‘Awareness’ to ‘Acceptance’ in 2021. The goal was to reflect the need to progress from ‘knowing’ about the condition to ‘accepting’ and ‘helping’ people with autism to develop in the community.
