Inclusion Warm Line Services

Inclusion means creating an environment where ALL children, including children with disabilities, children at risk of disabilities, and children with differing needs are accepted as full members of the child care community. Including all children together benefits everyone!

Our Inclusion Specialist can:
– Provide phone consultations to providers and families
– Offer childcare providers support with creating an inclusive and developmentally appropriate setting for all children
– Help families start a referral with the school district, Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB), their medical provider, or other community agencies.
– Help identify “red flags” or suspected delays
– Help childcare programs remove barriers and make reasonable accommodations to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements

Services Available:
– Online or phone consultation
– Support with starting referrals for assessment [e.g., school district, Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB), medical insurance, etc.]
– Support with developmental screenings [Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ-3 or ASQ:SE-2)]
– Trainings/workshops for teachers, childcare providers, and families
– Adaptive Toys/Equipment
– Basic Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) and Individuated Education Plan (IEP) support
– Connecting with community resources
– Developmental resources

As a provider, do I need consent from a family to call?
No – we will not discuss any personal identifiable information, so you’re welcome to call and ask general questions about development, resources, materials, community resources, etc. Most of the resources that we discuss will benefit ALL of the children in your care.

Did you know? The (Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), passed in 1990, prohibits childcare programs from discriminating against individuals with disabilities. In addition, in California, the Unruh Civil Rights Act states that all business establishments, including childcare programs, must not discriminate on the basis of disability.
